PTSI is a joint venture between Sterling Engineering and Design Group Ltd. ( www.sedg.net ) a USA based company with extensive post tensioning design and construction experience and Indian group. PTSI specializes in supply and installation of un-bonded mono-strand cable reinforcing in the Indian subcontinent. Our office in Vadodara is currently servicing clients in India.

We typically review the structural design of the project with the structural engineer of record and determine the feasibility of use of P-T on the project. If P-T is deemed feasible, PTSI submits a cost proposal to provide the reinforcing and its installation to the engineer/owner. The proposal defines in detail the scope of work of PTSI. The quote typically includes providing the cost for P-T cables, all accessories, P-T System installation and its stressing. The design of the P-T is in accordance with relevant ACI and IS codes. Typically, PTSI requires 3 to 4 weeks to deliver Post Tensioned cables after receipt of order. Our experience to date in the Indian market has yielded some valuable information. On an average the following construction improvements were observed:
  • P-T reduced the concrete volume by 20 to 30%
  • Cost of reinforcing is typically 20 to 30% less than that of conventional reinforcing
  • Formwork can be stripped after 4-5 days
  • Average bay (Column) spacing is 25 to 30 feet without increase in the slab thickness
